Blockchains have promised the world decentralisation, permissionless interoperation, and censorship resistance, but so far they have failed to deliver any of these at the quality or scale necessary to alter fundamental digital infrastructure.
Metastate is a multi-network research and engineering organisation dedicated to bringing novel research from computer science, PLT, and cryptography to bear on hard technical problems of scalability, verifiability, and privacy in order to realise this vision of networks in which users are sovereign.
Metastate is a remote-first team, currently composed of 15 cross-disciplinary researchers and engineers located around the world. Our work culture is characterized by open-allocation, where team members have a high degree of freedom and autonomy in choosing when to work, what to work on, and whom to work with.
Metastate was founded in Zug, Switzerland in March 2019 by Adrian Brink, Awa Sun Yin, and Christopher Goes.
